HAVE A PLAN

HAVE A PLAN

Episodes with music are only available on Spotify.
In this episode, Daryl Armstrong discusses the 5 Steps that you need to do before get into the stock market and build a portfolio. He shares tips about investing, trading, and how you can make money using money. Daryl is a stock trader and investor who guides investors with investment plans and strategic trading.

Investing Plan
[1:06]
You are buying some stocks that you truly believe in. Planning is where you already did your Fundamental Analysis. You analyzed companies and looked at their numbers, growth, balance sheets, book earnings, earnings ratios, and all other things to share ratios to determine if the company is a good value to get into or a good stock to invest in.

5 Steps That You Need to Do before Getting Into Stock Market and Build a Portfolio

1. Assess your Current Financial Situation
[2:22]
Look at stocks and investing and think about what you can do to grow your portfolio. Assess if you are ready to start, how much money you have to start, or how much you can afford to start investing.

[2:59]
When you start a portfolio, commit to investing like paying a bill where you might want to invest $50 or $100 a month, whatever you can to keep buying these stocks that you believe in over the long term. You’re not worried about the price of those stocks. You believe in the company that will keep growing, and you’re going to keep buying if it’s up or down.

2. Make Goals
[3:26]
You want to make sure you have that goal in mind of what you want to do with your portfolio. Know how much money you personally want to put into it, and find out what your goal is that you hope you will gain from profit by investing in your portfolio.

3. Find out your Risk Tolerance
[3:53]
Ask yourself if losing a certain percentage on a stock bothers you. Know your risk tolerance and find out if you care about fluctuations or if you want a more stable company to invest in. You need to find out your risk tolerance to know what you are willing to jump into and how much you are willing to lose.

4. Look for Stock that fit your Current Needs
[4:19]
You need to find the stocks that fit your current needs. Ask yourself if you are trying to grow your portfolio rapidly. Maybe you want to invest in a riskier type of growth stock or a standard 10% or anything. Maybe you want to invest in an index fund and diversify, or maybe you want to not be as risky. You need to find out what stocks might fit your goal.

5. Set a Plan
[4:57]
You need to plan how long you plan to invest and when you plan to use the money. Figure out what’s your plan with your portfolio. Are you using it for retirement? Are you using it to leverage yourself to buy other assets like real estate or business? Decide what you want to do with this portfolio and plan how

Trading vs. Investing
[6:31]
Trading is different than investing. Investing is you invest in the long term while in trading, you’re investing for the short term that grows quick money to use that trading money to buy more stocks for your investing plan.

[6:45]
Trading is a little bit more difficult. When it comes to investing, the likelihood for you to be profitable after five years is 81% if you buy a stock. But investing in trading is totally different. You’re trading for the short term. So you’re doing some type of scalping or day trading where you’re doing it for the short term.
Things that you need to consider when trading
• Skill Testing
[7:34]
Trading takes a lot of different things. It’s not just looking at the stock and buying and selling it when it’s high. Trading takes the type of skill to understand the charts, price patterns, flag patterns, and things. And you have to test the strategies to make sure they work.

• Trading is a Mental Game
[8:07]
Trading stocks is one of the hardest mental games out there because you’re fighting your emotions where you might get too greedy, too impatient, or you sell too early or too late.

• Setting your Risk Level
[8:42]
You need to learn how to set your risk level. Your ri
