Maya is the Executive Director of Proud Stutter, a podcast, and advocacy organization about shifting the narrative around stuttering and embracing verbal diversity. She is a writer and community advocate with over eight years of strategic communications experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Maya's full-time job is the Media & Democracy Program Manager for California Common Cause, where she advocates with local journalists serving communities in California. She lives in San Francisco with her fiancé and dog Lil’ Stu.
