Speaker:

. TREY: Hello!

CHELSEY:

Oh my God.

CHELSEY:

A costume change during the intro occurred.

TREY:

I just did a frantic costume change, like I'm doing a community

CHELSEY:

Trey is dressed in our Karen costumes.

CHELSEY:

And that's funny because the song was going on and I was doing our usual, like I usually

CHELSEY:

And now...

CHELSEY:

Karen's arrived.

TREY:

I frantically, I pushed the theme song button.

TREY:

I threw my headset off.

TREY:

I ran off camera.

TREY:

I had everything pre-set I had my wig.

TREY:

I had, well, I had these glasses on already, but...

CHELSEY:

The glasses, yeah, but they work.

TREY:

And then I had this wig and,

CHELSEY:

and he returned with the headphones on and the wig is like per, I mean, I'm impressed!

CHELSEY:

What a great quick change.

TREY:

Thank you.

TREY:

Thank you.

TREY:

Hey everyone.

TREY:

Uh, if you aren't a part of Patreon and watching this then you are annoyed.

TREY:

So let's get into the podcast.

TREY:

Welcome to Review That Review.

TREY:

This is the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing

CHELSEY:

reviews!

CHELSEY:

We're just like Siskel and Ebert only instead of reviewing cinematic, masterpieces, we

CHELSEY:

And sometimes we got to point it out, suspicious, online reviews.

TREY:

That's Chelsey Donn!

CHELSEY:

And that's Trey Gerrald.

TREY:

And when we come together on this very podcast, We are..

VOICEOVER:

The Review Queens.

TREY:

How's your week been, my RQ-C?

CHELSEY:

Ugh, RQ-T, let me tell you it's it's been a week.

CHELSEY:

I mean, all things considered things are good, but Goldie is like in the

CHELSEY:

It hurts.

CHELSEY:

Like she's only 14 weeks and she caused blood.

CHELSEY:

I mean, I have a band-aid on.

CHELSEY:

Look at this!

TREY:

Chelsey!

TREY:

You were hiding this the whole time.

CHELSEY:

I know I got a bandaid on this thumb and, uhh, it's a bleeder and it's her, it's her fault.

CHELSEY:

She doesn't mean it.

CHELSEY:

I know that like it's out of love, but like it does...

TREY:

Well, isn't it out of teething?

TREY:

They're just like biting everything because their teeth are hurting them.

CHELSEY:

Like, I thought that too, but I feel like it's aggressive.

CHELSEY:

Like it's a little, you know, we have someone who knows someone who knows

CHELSEY:

No, no.

CHELSEY:

The person says she worked with Cesar Milan, we have her coming in a couple of weeks to help out.

CHELSEY:

I have to be the pack leader.

CHELSEY:

That's what she said that like, if I'm not the pack leader,

TREY:

She'll try to be.

CHELSEY:

She's going to be the pack leader because one of us has gotta be the pack leader.

CHELSEY:

So I think I'm not leading enough.

CHELSEY:

And so she's getting aggressive!

CHELSEY:

Anyway, that's what's happening over here in my week.

CHELSEY:

What's happening in your week, Trey?

TREY:

You know, we, um, I mentioned last week that we, I was going to my husband

CHELSEY:

That's right.

TREY:

And we went.

CHELSEY:

How'd it go?

TREY:

It was a really fun.

TREY:

We went on a Thursday .Didn't totally plan it perfectly because, um, it was a

TREY:

So it was like, thank you.

TREY:

It was like 97 degrees, but it felt like 106.

TREY:

Like that's what the app said.

CHELSEY:

Did you bring those like spritz fan things?

CHELSEY:

Cause those help.

CHELSEY:

No, I was like,

TREY:

oh, I wish I had one of those literally.

TREY:

And then when we were leaving, the sun was already down.

TREY:

I saw they were selling them at one of the stores.

TREY:

I was like...

CHELSEY:

Of course they were!

TREY:

I know, also some like father was walking by and he had one of

TREY:

Do you know what I'm talking about?

TREY:

Yes.

TREY:

And I was like, I mean, I'm literally, like I would wear that without any shame, like

TREY:

It was just a Thursday, but a bunch of the, observant Jews were out

TREY:

because they want to wrap the Tefillin around you.

CHELSEY:

Yes.

CHELSEY:

Exactly.

TREY:

We were solicited about four times.

TREY:

That's not an exaggeration.

TREY:

We said yes to the first one, but they just kept asking different hordes of them.

TREY:

But it was funny because two of the times they like made eye contact with David.

TREY:

And then the other two, they made eye contact with me, but when they would look into my face,

CHELSEY:

So it's like, you look like you're like amongst a group of Jews, but you

TREY:

Yeah, we were sort of curious like how, like what Six Flags allowing it,

TREY:

So I took video and Denver, our nephew, actually has not had a bar mitzvah.

TREY:

And so they were very sweet and we're like, this is your bar mitzvah.

TREY:

And they did a Hora, you know,

CHELSEY:

Stop, really?

TREY:

You know how I feel about Horas.

CHELSEY:

I do know how you feel about Horas.

TREY:

But since I was thoroughly unincluded, which was perfectly happy and great for me.

TREY:

I don't need to be included in like most of...

TREY:

90% of life, I don't need to included.

TREY:

So I got to like take the video and it was really cute and it was

TREY:

And then we had a blast.

TREY:

We had a total blast at Six Flags and, um,

CHELSEY:

Wow.

CHELSEY:

So like what started, what started as a day at Six Flags ended up being a Six Flags bar mitzvah.

CHELSEY:

Wow.

TREY:

And, uh, you know what, and it was not like your Sesame Place review.

TREY:

This was a full on rockin time.

CHELSEY:

Wow.

CHELSEY:

Well, that's kind of amazing when you think about it that way.

TREY:

I'm gonna wear this Karen outfit, the whole episode I hope you realize

CHELSEY:

I mean, I was prepared for it.

TREY:

Okay good.

TREY:

Speaking of Karen's, Chelsey, would you like to

VOICEOVER:

Lodge a Complaint!

CHELSEY:

Thank you.

CHELSEY:

I thought you'd never ask.

CHELSEY:

Thank you so much.

CHELSEY:

I want to lodge a complaint today.

CHELSEY:

Against itchy clothing tags.

TREY:

Oh my God.

CHELSEY:

It's just, it's out of control.

CHELSEY:

Sometimes you have an itchy, you get like a new clothing item and

CHELSEY:

Seems like that might be kind of itchy and you don't really follow through with that instinct.

CHELSEY:

And then the entire day is ruined.

CHELSEY:

I feel like a bear that wants to scratch his back against a tree, you know?

CHELSEY:

And so I don't understand, like we have fit models that try on the clothes

CHELSEY:

Why can't we have fit models to assure that your tag is not itchy because

CHELSEY:

Well, there's probably other things, but one of the things that annoys my day

CHELSEY:

What do you think?

TREY:

I mean, that is so accurate.

TREY:

You would think that the fit models they would, if that's all about measuring,

TREY:

I do like how some of these clothing companies just like print on the interior fabric.

CHELSEY:

Yeah, yeah.

CHELSEY:

That, or even usually like one of the tags on the side of the clothing item,

TREY:

Yeah.

TREY:

Isn't that weird?

TREY:

How the side seam doesn't isn't as itchy is like the square of your back?

CHELSEY:

Yeah, But the square of the back.

CHELSEY:

Terrible.

CHELSEY:

Terrible, terrible.

CHELSEY:

Anyway, complaint lodged.

TREY:

Great complaint.

CHELSEY:

Thank you.

TREY:

One of those like little annoyances, that I think most people understand.

CHELSEY:

Exactly.

CHELSEY:

What about you, Trey?

CHELSEY:

Do you have a complaint to lodge?

TREY:

Okay.

TREY:

Today I would like to lodge a complaint against tears running down your face

CHELSEY:

Cause you have to keep your eye open and it's like your eye tears?

TREY:

Okay.

TREY:

You know, like when you were like, oh, I need to put in eyedrops and you lean back and you

CHELSEY:

What a waste?

TREY:

Well, it bothers me that like, I I'm putting so much attention into squirting

TREY:

And then you put your face back up and it instantly just like smears down your face.

TREY:

It makes me so annoyed.

TREY:

Have you ever encountered this?

TREY:

Am I doing eye drops wrong?

CHELSEY:

No, no, no, no.

CHELSEY:

Here's the, here's the deal.

CHELSEY:

Something you should know about me.

CHELSEY:

Um, I've been like very blessed knock on all the wood.

CHELSEY:

I've always had like good vision.

CHELSEY:

I've never had contacts.

CHELSEY:

I can't even do it.

CHELSEY:

Like I admire you.

CHELSEY:

I can't even put in eyedrops.

CHELSEY:

I try, I can't keep my eye open.

CHELSEY:

It's like a natural response that my eye just wants to close when I'm...

CHELSEY:

I don't trust myself.

CHELSEY:

I don't know what it is, but like, Getting an eye drop, even in the close vicinity of the eye.

CHELSEY:

That's, that's a major victory for me.

CHELSEY:

So

TREY:

I guess, yeah.

TREY:

I have a fear that if I don't squirt enough of the liquid, it's not gonna...

TREY:

Cause I use eyedrops.

TREY:

Like if I want the whites of my eyes to look wider, that's literally

TREY:

So if it's ever, when I have to be on camera.

TREY:

So in those circumstances, I'm very much paying attention to looking my best.

TREY:

So it's really obnoxious that like, it just instantly wets my face.

TREY:

It's so obnoxious.

TREY:

And it's just one of those annoyances that like, you always have to like deal with.

TREY:

And I never think about it until the moment it's happening.

TREY:

So that is my complaint.

TREY:

I'm a lodging it offish.

CHELSEY:

I'm hearing you and I so sorry, you've had to deal with this for so

CHELSEY:

Like I don't, I don't know.

CHELSEY:

I don't know how we fix the problem.

TREY:

I don't either, but...

CHELSEY:

That's the thing.

TREY:

It's fine.

TREY:

I don't want, I don't want to have red eyes.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

So this is what we have to do.

CHELSEY:

We make sacrifices for beauty.

CHELSEY:

What can we say?

TREY:

Okay.

TREY:

So anyway, so enough about all of that, lets us stop complaining and lets us start queening.

TREY:

How would you feel, Chelsey, about jumping into some written online reviews?

CHELSEY:

I would love that.

CHELSEY:

I mean, I'm here for it.

CHELSEY:

So anyway, as you know, we are your trusty Review Queens.

CHELSEY:

We each bring in a review from the internet that we feel needs to be inspected.

TREY:

We read you the review, we break it down.

TREY:

And then we each rate the impact of the review on a scale from one to five cowns.

TREY:

This is a very Regal process that we have coined called

VOICEOVER:

Assess that Kvetch!

TREY:

And Kvetch, like the Tefillin wrappers know means complainant.

CHELSEY:

I'm kvelling, Trey!

CHELSEY:

So good.

CHELSEY:

All right, who is first today?

TREY:

You are, my RQ-C.

CHELSEY:

Oh my God.

CHELSEY:

I am.

CHELSEY:

Here we go.

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

CHELSEY:

I have a review today for the Getty Villa.

CHELSEY:

It is from TripAdvisor.

CHELSEY:

It's a one dot review.

CHELSEY:

written by 94ACB 94ACB all of a sudden, I feel like I'm like a bingo caller.

CHELSEY:

Okay.

CHELSEY:

So this is of the Getty Villa.

CHELSEY:

I visited with two other young women, and we were absolutely horrified by how the

CHELSEY:

Rather than helping us to enter properly, since it is for some still unknown reason

CHELSEY:

They simply yelled at us and laughed maliciously at our discomfort.

CHELSEY:

Some other visitors saved us by offering a ride into the grounds.

CHELSEY:

The art is fine.

CHELSEY:

And the gardens are decent.

CHELSEY:

Although I did find the Villa pretty tacky, but none of that made are truly scarring

CHELSEY:

They yelled at us again on the way out.

CHELSEY:

When we tried to figure out where to have our Uber rescue us from, no signage about it yet, you can't

CHELSEY:

I really don't understand how they found a collection of staff with so much hostility.

CHELSEY:

Wondering if they train them to be cruel so they don't have to deal

CHELSEY:

Good luck if you decide to go.

CHELSEY:

Maybe book an appointment with your therapist for the day after.

TREY:

What is the Getty Villa?

CHELSEY:

Okay.

CHELSEY:

I'm so glad you asked, so the Getty, so there's the Getty Museum.

CHELSEY:

I think it's like the Hills of Brentwood...

CHELSEY:

Bell Aire, kind of, and then this is another property that's also affiliated with the Getty

CHELSEY:

It's more like it's, it's beautiful.

CHELSEY:

There's like lush outdoor grounds and there's sculptures and antiquities is

TREY:

It looks so Stunning.

CHELSEY:

It's beautiful.

CHELSEY:

And it is free.

CHELSEY:

But they are very strict about, I know, just because I've been there,

CHELSEY:

Like you have to pay for parking.

CHELSEY:

You don't have to pay to get there, but you have to show them your appointment and you

CHELSEY:

And then everything else is free, unless obviously you're like buying

CHELSEY:

Anyway...

TREY:

I see even here, the Getty guide is free on the app.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

you know, whenever you got to park there.

CHELSEY:

So what was interesting and looking through the negative reviews, everybody,

CHELSEY:

Or I guess maybe by Uber, like if I, maybe the Uber dropped them off at the bottom

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

TREY:

When was the review written?

CHELSEY:

2017.

TREY:

Because I wonder if there are signs for Uber now, like now I feel like even the

CHELSEY:

So you think like 2017 was a little premature for like the full Uber signage?

CHELSEY:

Maybe.

TREY:

I don't know.

CHELSEY:

I mean but people could have taken taxis I guess before, like there

TREY:

So.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

So this review is really interesting to me because 94ACB says that it's tacky.

CHELSEY:

She does.

TREY:

Isn't the whole point, like I'm looking at the website and the Villa, like,

CHELSEY:

Oh, It's beautiful.

TREY:

So I'm just looking at the website.

TREY:

like, okay, would I want to go here.

TREY:

And it looks amazing.

TREY:

Like, you know, I understand if it's not your taste, but what didn't, you have

TREY:

It's just funny that they then say it's tacky after having a bad experience, but

CHELSEY:

I know.

CHELSEY:

What was interesting, they said the art is fine and the gardens are decent.

CHELSEY:

Although I did find the Villa pretty tacky.

CHELSEY:

I'm just trying to think in my head.

CHELSEY:

Like, is the Villa separate area that they think is tacky?

CHELSEY:

Or they're just saying like they're abbreviating Getty Villa.

CHELSEY:

Like they found the whole experience pretty tacky.

CHELSEY:

I mean, it's a little gosch, I guess, but it's a museum.

TREY:

It's literally Greek and Roman antiquities housed in a recreated Roman country home.

CHELSEY:

Correct!

TREY:

What?!

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

The tacky comment was like a little strange.

CHELSEY:

I think maybe we could have used like synonyms to try and get closer to what it

TREY:

Hmm.

CHELSEY:

Right?

TREY:

Well, I'm Southern.

TREY:

So tacky has a different connotation.

CHELSEY:

Oh.

CHELSEY:

Well, I'd love to hear it.

TREY:

Well, we call people, well, not me, but like tacky is a way to

TREY:

Like, 'oh, she's so tacky.'

CHELSEY:

Oh, oh, interesting.

CHELSEY:

I think maybe I've heard it used that way, but I think we got to use a different word.

CHELSEY:

This person is...

CHELSEY:

94ACB is from Philadelphia.

CHELSEY:

If that means anything.

TREY:

I just have a question here because it makes me curious.

TREY:

Why you can't just walk in?

TREY:

Why you have to be let in via car?

TREY:

I wonder like what the purpose or reason is behind that.

TREY:

I think it's valuable to know you're gonna have to be dropped off via a vehicle.

CHELSEY:

Yeah, that it's going to drive like onto the grounds and you're going

CHELSEY:

Like that's what's like...

TREY:

And I understand like paying for parking is always so obnoxious, but when you're in

CHELSEY:

Right.

CHELSEY:

And the museum is free.

CHELSEY:

So like, that's how I always think about it.

CHELSEY:

It's like, okay, I'm paying $12.

CHELSEY:

But like, if there's like three of us in the car, that's like $4 a person to go to a museum.

CHELSEY:

So

TREY:

I'm sort of thrown here, because I think that like the point

TREY:

Cause imagine, imagine having to deal, like, if there is this rule that you

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

TREY:

If you work security.

TREY:

You are the one that's face to face with having to deal with this obnoxious rule

TREY:

So like the patience level of having to deal with everyone being upset about that when you're

TREY:

So it's valuable to me to like, know that ahead of time, but I'm just, I'm, I'm confused.

TREY:

Cause it's one of those cases where you feel accosted and upset and so then you just throw

CHELSEY:

Right?

CHELSEY:

Like the Spa Castle thing, where it was like...

TREY:

...exactly what I was thinking...

CHELSEY:

"and there was feces on the wall" and you're like, that came out of nowhere.

TREY:

Yeah.

TREY:

It's sort of like, I don't know, to me, I think that a park for $12 a

TREY:

But I recognize,

CHELSEY:

I think that it's more like if you, I think what's happening to 94ACB,

CHELSEY:

Like we wouldn't know.

CHELSEY:

It's not it's if you go on the website, it doesn't say anything about not being able to walk there.

CHELSEY:

It doesn't say that at all.

CHELSEY:

and you do have to sign up ahead of time.

CHELSEY:

So like I've gone on the website.

CHELSEY:

I've signed up.

CHELSEY:

I received my info email confirmation, I'm walking up to the gates, excited to go to this museum.

CHELSEY:

And the first thing that I encounter is someone that is how I feel like harassing

CHELSEY:

That it was a scarring experience.

CHELSEY:

I wonder like if, if 94ACB, like, I don't know if they're just like very sensitive and this was

CHELSEY:

I mean, I don't, I have like problems with people yelling at me or telling

CHELSEY:

And so I can understand, like I can empathize with that feeling of like 'I got in trouble

TREY:

It's like a damper on the experience.

CHELSEY:

Yeah!

TREY:

What is their spelling and grammar like?

CHELSEY:

Good.

CHELSEY:

We use parentheses, we use parentheses quite a bit.

CHELSEY:

One time we ended a sentence on a parenthese, which I thought was kind of strange.

CHELSEY:

Usually it's like parentheses is adding information and then we're finishing our point.

CHELSEY:

And if we're being very, very picky here, but other than that, I'd say.

CHELSEY:

This was a well thought out review by 94ACB.

CHELSEY:

I think she probably re re-read it a few times to make sure I did feel like

CHELSEY:

Like in the beginning it was just like we were complaining and then we were insulting a little.

CHELSEY:

And then like when we came out, we were recommending that people, you know, book a

TREY:

Yeah.

TREY:

What'd you think about that joke?

CHELSEY:

I appreciated the effort.

CHELSEY:

I would imagine that 94ACB probably did book a sesh after this.

TREY:

I mean, I think I can crown this.

CHELSEY:

I think I'm ready to crown.

CHELSEY:

Let's do it.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of one to five crown cards in an effort to

TREY:

We will simultaneously reveal our rating.

CHELSEY:

Let's do it.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

TREY:

All right, you ready?

CHELSEY:

Yes.

VOICEOVER:

Total Score.

CHELSEY:

Okay!

TREY:

I almost did that too!

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

So Trey's holding up two crowns and I'm holding up two and a half crowns.

CHELSEY:

Trey.

CHELSEY:

Why did you give 94ACB, two crowns?

TREY:

Wait now I feel like I want to change it.

CHELSEY:

Don't change it.

CHELSEY:

Go with your gut.

TREY:

Well, to me, I just think that the, I actually think that the, review is valuable.

TREY:

I think that it's truthful.

TREY:

I believe that this was their experience.

TREY:

I think it's a common experience people can.

TREY:

So that makes me think maybe I should have rated it higher, but the impact to me.

TREY:

Makes me feel like 94 ACB took it too personally.

TREY:

And I wasn't there.

TREY:

I don't know how they were accosted by the security twice.

TREY:

Like, I don't know what that experience was like, but to me, I just feel like

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

TREY:

Like, I don't know.

TREY:

That's why I feel like maybe I should have rated it higher, but it's not humorous.

TREY:

I would never hang this on my fridge.

TREY:

Like I think it's sort of like, maybe I should have rated it a higher.

TREY:

They got, they did better spelling.

CHELSEY:

They had good spelling.

CHELSEY:

I mean, I did, I'll just say I did two and a half.

CHELSEY:

I did two and a half for all the reasons that you've said previously.

CHELSEY:

The reason why I took away two and a half is because I thought we didn't really talk

CHELSEY:

You just said it was tacky.

CHELSEY:

And like, you, you sort of like skirted around that they're beautiful grounds, but like, like

CHELSEY:

I will be more keen to rate someone higher if they're going to say to me

CHELSEY:

The views are incredible.

CHELSEY:

You're on the PCH, right on the beach.

CHELSEY:

Like it was great that being set and like, I wanted to love it.

CHELSEY:

That being said, X, Y, Z.

CHELSEY:

I thought we're a little emotional.

CHELSEY:

And that was why I gave it two and a half.

TREY:

Fair.

CHELSEY:

Right?

TREY:

Now I want to go there.

TREY:

I want to go to the Getty Villa in a car!

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

Well, I mean, we'll have to be sure to take a car there 1000%.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

So let's take a quick break.

TREY:

And when we come back, we can get into my review.

CHELSEY:

Love it.

CHELSEY:

BRB.

VOICEOVER:

Hold your crown.

VOICEOVER:

We'll be right back.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

It is game time.

TREY:

Chelsey, are you ready to get strapped in on our ferocious lion on the Meryl-Go-Round?!

VOICEOVER:

I don't feel like an icon.

VOICEOVER:

Most of the days, I feel like 'I can't!' That's within a.

CHELSEY:

I love that I'm a lion.

CHELSEY:

Thank you.

CHELSEY:

Can you be a bear, but we just need a tiger.

CHELSEY:

Maybe we can have Meryl be the tiger.

CHELSEY:

Anyway, Trey and I have each picked a rotten scathing, pithy one-star zinger.

CHELSEY:

And with 30 seconds on the clock, not a second more.

CHELSEY:

We'll take turns, trying to recite the zinger in as many genres as possible.

TREY:

Just like queen Meryl, who does it all!

CHELSEY:

Before the clock runs out!

TREY:

Today, my one star zinger is from amazon.com and this is for Pepsi soda, the

TREY:

This review is written by Sister Jean.

CHELSEY:

Oh, Sister Jean.

TREY:

I don't know if that means...

CHELSEY:

...a nun!

TREY:

I guess?

TREY:

Can nuns have Pepsi?

CHELSEY:

I think so.

CHELSEY:

We got to give them something.

TREY:

But this one star zinger, the subject is Grrrrrrrrrrr!

TREY:

And the review is, I case was dented and I have to use a screwdriver to open cans.

TREY:

Grrrrrrrrrr!

CHELSEY:

Wow.

CHELSEY:

Sister...

TREY:

Jean.

CHELSEY:

Sister Jean, good thing you had a screwdriver on hand or else you might

TREY:

Grrrrrrrrrr!

CHELSEY:

All right.

CHELSEY:

Trey.

CHELSEY:

Are you ready?

CHELSEY:

You got this!

TREY:

Me, I'm channeling my inner Sister Jean and I am ready, strapped in on my bear.

TREY:

All right.

CHELSEY:

VOICEOVER:

TREY:

Lifetime case was tainted, and I hit you as a skirt,

CHELSEY:

VOICEOVER:

TREY:

Wow.

TREY:

I really got stumped on the Yankee.

CHELSEY:

See that happened to me a few episodes ago!

CHELSEY:

Isn't it like crazy when you're, you know, you could do it.

CHELSEY:

You've done it a million times, but it just doesn't want to come out.

TREY:

My mouth was fighting me.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

That was what happened to me after he did the Southern and I couldn't, I couldn't do the Yankee.

CHELSEY:

So now I'm glad that you did that because now at least I know you understand my pain anyway.

CHELSEY:

Should I give you opera diva?

CHELSEY:

What do you think audience?

TREY:

Please!

CHELSEY:

Alright.

CHELSEY:

I'll give you an opera diva.

CHELSEY:

Alright so we got four for Trey!

TREY:

That is a scary feeling when like the clock is just running and like,

TREY:

That was really scary.

CHELSEY:

I know, isn't it terrible?

CHELSEY:

Don't you feel like you should apologize to Meryl?

CHELSEY:

You don't have to it's okay.

CHELSEY:

She doesn't care.

CHELSEY:

She says, process is clunky.

TREY:

Meryl.

TREY:

This was me before Yale drama school.

CHELSEY:

Yeah, exactly.

CHELSEY:

She knows.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

So Chelsey, what is your one star zinger today?

CHELSEY:

My One star zinger is from Ben A., it is a one-star review on Google for the Hollywood sign

TREY:

Yeah the prank.

CHELSEY:

Yeah, I liked it better when it hollyweed.

TREY:

In case the listeners don't know there, there were some people that broke into the

TREY:

And so it said Hollyweed.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

So this Ben a light did better when it Hollyweed.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

Are you ready?

CHELSEY:

I'm ready!

TREY:

Are you on your lion?

CHELSEY:

I'm Strapped into my lion tiger ligger.

CHELSEY:

Yes.

VOICEOVER:

3, 2, 1, GO!

VOICEOVER:

True crime documentary.

VOICEOVER:

I like it

I like it

VOICEOVER:

VOICEOVER:

I like it.

VOICEOVER:

VOICEOVER:

TREY:

VOICEOVER:

That's all.

TREY:

I mean, I have to give that to you cause you gave me mine 2, 4, 6, 7.

CHELSEY:

Woo!

CHELSEY:

Seven!

CHELSEY:

That's exciting!

TREY:

I'm so proud of you.

CHELSEY:

Thank you.

TREY:

I, I thought weed slowed you down, but girl, it made you go fast!

CHELSEY:

Just made me go faster.

CHELSEY:

Love it.

TREY:

Mazel Tov.

TREY:

Thank you.

TREY:

Thank you.

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

CHELSEY:

All right.

CHELSEY:

We are back from that game break.

CHELSEY:

And it's your turn Trey.

CHELSEY:

Where is your review from this week?

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

So today I have a review from the website, Better Business Bureau

CHELSEY:

Oh!

CHELSEY:

BBB!

TREY:

BBB.

TREY:

And this is for the Mexican restaurant Qdoba.

CHELSEY:

Is that the chain?

TREY:

Yes, it's like a Chipotle, but it's Qdoba.

TREY:

Qdoba Mexican Grill.

TREY:

It's under the headquarters Qdoba.

TREY:

So I don't know where it is, but it's in the United States of America.

TREY:

This is a one-star review from Joe P

CHELSEY:

Joe P.

TREY:

Do not go to this store.

TREY:

The manager Charollett hates her job.

TREY:

Upon arriving she seemed irritated.

TREY:

She asked me what I wanted and I ordered the protein bowl.

TREY:

I believe the protein bowl has double beans and double meat, but she gave me

TREY:

When it came to the salsa, she lost it.

TREY:

She reached to the very, the salsa Verde.

TREY:

And I don't like the salsa Verde I wanted the habenero instead.

TREY:

And she said she couldn't do it because it would screw up her inventory.

TREY:

I told her I wanted cheese and she said she couldn't do it.

TREY:

I told her, I ordered the bowl several times before with no issues.

TREY:

And she said she couldn't do it.

TREY:

I told her I'll pay the difference.

TREY:

When she put one scoop of habenaro in the bowl, I asked her for any second, she sighed hard.

TREY:

Then I asked for the cheese.

TREY:

And she put a super tiny amount in the bowl.

TREY:

And I told her more cheese.

TREY:

At this point, she was irritated and so was I, so I told her if I'm

TREY:

She lost it and slammed my bowl down and said out loud, quote, 'will someone else

TREY:

I was appalled and shocked.

TREY:

So, when I paid for the ticket, I told the other lady, I wanted the district manager's number.

TREY:

When she didn't know it, she went in the back to tell her manager and heard them talk about me.

TREY:

She came back and said, they didn't know it.

TREY:

I told them I knew they did and they didn't want to give.

TREY:

I asked for it again.

TREY:

The manager came out and said to call the corporate office and if I didn't leave, she

TREY:

I reached out to Qdoba online three times and I've yet to hear back.

TREY:

My suggestion dash, don't go to this store nine exclamation marks.

CHELSEY:

Wow.

CHELSEY:

That was, that was unacceptable.

CHELSEY:

In my opinion, Joe P.

TREY:

Isn't that like an odd, like, I can't like, okay, I have this always comes up with this

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

TREY:

So I just can't imagine being so done that you actually

CHELSEY:

call them an asshole.

TREY:

Yeah.

TREY:

That's just really like, it's so shocking to me.

CHELSEY:

I mean, that's where it took a turn and like, I was like trying to understand,

CHELSEY:

This is not accept...

CHELSEY:

even if it was like, let me get somebody else to help you.

CHELSEY:

Like, I feel like maybe we're not communicating clearly or something like that.

TREY:

Well see like, That's the problem with these sort of like Subway, Blaze Pizza, Chipotle

CHELSEY:

For everything.

CHELSEY:

For everything.

TREY:

But like who's actually monitoring that.

TREY:

So I just feel like this is a hard job to have, like where you're scooping.

TREY:

And I feel like everyone always wants more, but this is the store manager, Charollett.

TREY:

Spelled C H A R O L L E T T.

CHELSEY:

Wait, wait, wait.

CHELSEY:

Spell that again.

CHELSEY:

I'm sorry, what?

CHELSEY:

I was going to ask for the spelling.

CHELSEY:

So I wrote down spelling question mark.

TREY:

C H A R O L L E T T.

TREY:

Charollett.

CHELSEY:

Charollett.

TREY:

I don't know if it's a misspelling or not.

TREY:

It's capitalized.

CHELSEY:

And just saying,

TREY:

so like for the manager to be that annoyed.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

I just think the whole thing was weird.

CHELSEY:

Like from the get, I was kind of like, oh, I didn't, I mean, maybe this isn't

CHELSEY:

Like making the bowl and then

TREY:

That's a good question.

TREY:

Maybe it's on the tag?

CHELSEY:

Yeah and then I was like maybe with like, cause the inventory comment,

CHELSEY:

And so I was like, Hmm, like maybe Charollett, like just got in trouble

CHELSEY:

And so she was being like very, it does sound like, yeah.

CHELSEY:

Like, like she just had, ou know slapped on the wrist for over-serving or whatever it was.

CHELSEY:

And like they're not meeting the numbers that they're supposed to be meeting.

CHELSEY:

And so that's why she was sort of being so strict.

CHELSEY:

I liked when Joe said like that it was at the salsa that she lost it.

TREY:

Yup.

TREY:

When it came to the salsa, she lost it.

CHELSEY:

I don't know what he meant by that.

CHELSEY:

Exactly.

CHELSEY:

But I would, what I imagined he meant by that was like, he was maybe on her side or maybe willing to

CHELSEY:

But then when the salsa incident happened, that was like the line in the sand.

TREY:

It's interesting to me because Joe P mentioned that they have ordered

TREY:

So it's sort of like.

TREY:

I, I mean, I, I would, I would hope that, you know, if you're going to have this,

TREY:

It comes with these things,' because just saying, I believe maybe he's

TREY:

I believe it comes this way, knowing that it does, but because I don't know the

TREY:

Because it sounds like Joe is telling us that they left out a scoop and then

TREY:

It was the wrong one.

TREY:

And then it wasn't enough.

TREY:

And then they want to cheese and it was like a tiny little morsel of cheese.

TREY:

And then they lost it.

CHELSEY:

That was, I was confused about the whole cheese and then like the salsa

CHELSEY:

Like he teed it up, like like he had a, he had a line that he repeated.

CHELSEY:

She said she couldn't do it.

CHELSEY:

She said she couldn't do it.

CHELSEY:

Right?

TREY:

Correct.

TREY:

You're right.

CHELSEY:

But then later he said, cause like I asked for the second salsa and she like

CHELSEY:

So it's like what happened in between she, her just saying she couldn't do it.

CHELSEY:

And her giving him a minuscule amount?

TREY:

Yeah.

TREY:

It's odd to me.

TREY:

Cause also I feel like at any of these processional line things, it's like a mound of

TREY:

And then the cheese broke the camel's back.

TREY:

Like I feel like maybe Charollett, Charollett was being a little paybacky

CHELSEY:

Maybe,

TREY:

Then, you know, Joe was like, 'are you serious?' And then Charollett lost it.

TREY:

But also do you think that they are unaware of how to provide this angry

CHELSEY:

Oh hell no!

TREY:

They obviously know it.

CHELSEY:

They definitely have it.

CHELSEY:

They're just like, if you're going to narc on us, like the least you can do is Google.

TREY:

Google it!

CHELSEY:

You know, I like get it, like, you know what I mean?

CHELSEY:

It's like, am I going to make it easier for you to narc on me?

CHELSEY:

Like, no.

CHELSEY:

Also like when you're coming at me like that, I don't know.

CHELSEY:

It's like, I always fall on both sides of this.

TREY:

That's like when you're a kid and your parents are like, tell

TREY:

It's like, no!

CHELSEY:

Whatever version of it that you remember is the version that

CHELSEY:

Yeah, no, so that, that was funny to me.

CHELSEY:

But the other thing is that I've been thinking about as you've been reading this

CHELSEY:

Especially in a situation like this, like maybe if it was like, there was a rat in

CHELSEY:

But like for these types of complaints, it does feel like this review should

CHELSEY:

Also we've discussed before with other restaurants and things like this.

CHELSEY:

It's I would imagine a franchise.

TREY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

So each one I would think is run very independent from the other.

CHELSEY:

So writing it, like you said, just on a broad, you know, Better Business Bureau

CHELSEY:

Like maybe if the franchisee was of the store in Maine or whatever looked at

CHELSEY:

And they saw that Charollett was maybe acting in a way that he wouldn't want

CHELSEY:

Then he could actually do something.

CHELSEY:

He could intervene.

CHELSEY:

He could do something about it.

CHELSEY:

But, I wonder how much control corporate even has over something like

CHELSEY:

I don't know the answer to that.

TREY:

It's a really...

TREY:

I'm so grateful that you brought that up and I want to circle back to that, but it

TREY:

Because you search Qdoba and it just gives you all of them in the nation.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

Exactly.

CHELSEY:

Also, I'm sorry.

CHELSEY:

But I found this really funny when they said that, like, if he didn't leave that they were

TREY:

I think so.

TREY:

Because what if someone won't leave?

TREY:

Isn't that trespassing?

TREY:

Like if people are like, standing around outside smoking, like,

CHELSEY:

That's loitering.

TREY:

Oh, you're right.

TREY:

I don't know.

TREY:

I'm not a lawyer, but.

TREY:

I wonder what the distinction is.

CHELSEY:

Right?

CHELSEY:

Loitering, I think.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

That makes sense.

CHELSEY:

Like, you're overstaying your welcome.

CHELSEY:

And you're not using the space for the purpose that it was meant to be.

TREY:

I just totally, if they had said that to me, I would have been like, oh shit, like,

CHELSEY:

yeah, maybe they just said that cause they thought

TREY:

I didn't even question, like, of course.

TREY:

Can you, I don't know.

CHELSEY:

I don't know.

CHELSEY:

My sister's a lawyer.

CHELSEY:

I think about these things.

CHELSEY:

I'm like is trespassing, the appropriate, uh, crime being committed here.

CHELSEY:

I don't know.

CHELSEY:

Maybe it is.

TREY:

I will say.

TREY:

There are a few spelling grammar issues here and there.

TREY:

I I'm, I'm curious about Charollett, but we can, we can just give them that one.

TREY:

It also, it says she reached to very the salsa Verde.

TREY:

I don't know.

CHELSEY:

I heard that I was very confused

TREY:

Right and then it

CHELSEY:

I was verde confused!

TREY:

Verde Confused.

TREY:

There.

TREY:

It's not, I don't know that they did a spell check.

CHELSEY:

For sure...

CHELSEY:

not.

CHELSEY:

All right.

CHELSEY:

I think I have enough information.

TREY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

What do you think?

TREY:

Me too.

TREY:

Let's crown it.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

TREY:

Are you ready?

CHELSEY:

I think so.

CHELSEY:

It's okay Let's do it.

VOICEOVER:

Total Score.

CHELSEY:

Oh, interesting.

CHELSEY:

Trey is holding up one and a half and I'm holding up two and a half.

CHELSEY:

I did two and a half.

CHELSEY:

Cause I thought like it did seem like the manager was truly Charollett, Charlotte, whatever you

CHELSEY:

Um, the asshole comment was way out of line.

CHELSEY:

And for that reason alone, I think that Joe has a right to, you know, be upset about that.

CHELSEY:

So that's, that's where he got the two and a half.

CHELSEY:

He lost it for me in the narrative.

CHELSEY:

I mean, I don't really understand the whole, like she said, she couldn't do it.

CHELSEY:

And then all of a sudden she's giving a sprinkle thing, uh, where that came from.

CHELSEY:

And I also don't think that this is a really effective review and that the

CHELSEY:

So he's not really warning anybody that might be going to this Qdoba that they

CHELSEY:

So that's why I gave it two and a half.

CHELSEY:

How about you, Trey?

TREY:

I started at two and then I went down to one and a half at the very end.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

TREY:

Only because there are many reviews on Better Business Bureau that say store

TREY:

And so Joe P did not bother with that, which okay.

TREY:

Whatever.

TREY:

But, it does sort of cause an issue where I, I can't, uh, it doesn't, it becomes irrelevant

TREY:

And there are lots of like, uh, spelling problems and a little bit of the narrative got lost.

TREY:

Like, I, I wish that Joe P had done a little pass of editing just to sort

TREY:

And also my whole spiel about what is in a protein bowl would have helped.

CHELSEY:

Right.

CHELSEY:

It seemed like to me, maybe even they were given too much beforehand hence the inventory problem.

CHELSEY:

Maybe I dunno.

TREY:

Oh, good point.

TREY:

Right.

TREY:

I just sort of felt that like, I want to give Joe P some credit because they did say I'll pay more.

TREY:

So please just do what I'm wanting here.

TREY:

But also at the end of the day, you know, it's like you're at a concession line restaurant.

TREY:

So like, I don't know.

TREY:

I just feel like pick your battles.

TREY:

But if I was called an asshole at a store, I would probably go to Better Business Bureaus as well.

TREY:

Like I would actually,

CHELSEY:

Yeah, I think it's messed up.

TREY:

So that's why I did one and a half.

VOICEOVER:

There's a reply.

CHELSEY:

Oh my God.

CHELSEY:

There's a reply?

CHELSEY:

From who?

CHELSEY:

The district manager?

TREY:

Okay.

TREY:

I'm so glad that you brought up the whole point before because Qdoba Mexican Grill has a response.

TREY:

They say, hi blank, it's three asterisks, but we can see that the reviewer's name is Joe.

TREY:

I don't know.

TREY:

'Hi asterisk, asterik asterisk.

TREY:

Thanks for your review and feedback.

TREY:

We want all of our guests to have a great experience, and it sounds like we

CHELSEY:

Sure.

CHELSEY:

Yes.

TREY:

'This kind of behavior is definitely concerning to hear.

TREY:

I know you eventually spoke with our customer care team as well as the regional manager.

TREY:

So I'm glad to know that everything was resolved.

TREY:

Thanks again for letting us know exclamation mark.' I wasn't even going to

TREY:

Like if this is a licensed franchise

CHELSEY:

Yeah, at the end of the day, who.

CHELSEY:

Who is like responsible or who is the person to deal with this?

TREY:

And this reply is 10 days later.

TREY:

Exactly.

TREY:

So, but I I'm curious, maybe, maybe the corporate office saw this on Better Business and figured

TREY:

You know, this is our brand who knows, but I just thought that that really impacted my

TREY:

But like this probably should be a complaint on a different, uh,

CHELSEY:

platform.

TREY:

Yeah, because it is sort of.

TREY:

Or at least list the store number, location, give some clarifying

CHELSEY:

Yes, because there's no way that you could expect the same experience

TREY:

Right?

TREY:

I hope not.

CHELSEY:

Hope not.

TREY:

The next time I'm in LA.

TREY:

When I go to the Getty Villa museum, I will not be stopping at a Qdoba because I don't

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

No.

CHELSEY:

Who can handle that?

CHELSEY:

That's just too much.

TREY:

Lordy, Lordy.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

My queen, we have reached the most regal portion of our show.

TREY:

My Chelsey darling, my RQ-C.

TREY:

Who are you in ducting today for?

VOICEOVER:

My Royal Highness!

CHELSEY:

I think I'm going to go ahead and give My Royal Highness to all of the medical professionals

CHELSEY:

And they're the first ones that have to deal with the real ramifications of what's happening.

CHELSEY:

So I don't think we say it enough.

CHELSEY:

Thank you to everyone from like the, you know, top, top surgeon to the nurse and

CHELSEY:

And I'm so grateful.

CHELSEY:

So to all of you, you are My Royal Highness this week.

TREY:

I had to take my Karen wig off for that, because just truly, truly so much

TREY:

Good job.

TREY:

That's a good one.

CHELSEY:

Thank you.

CHELSEY:

How about you, Trey?

CHELSEY:

Who are you going to induct this week?

TREY:

Okay.

TREY:

So this week I am inducting for My Royal Highness a podcast friend.

CHELSEY:

Okay.

TREY:

Okay.

TREY:

So there is a podcast it is called Seriously Sinister, a true petty crime podcast.

TREY:

I forget how exactly I got in connection with them, but they currently at the time of recording

TREY:

So they're just ahead of us a couple of months, but when we started our whole push

TREY:

They were DM-ing us.

TREY:

Like it's just, once again, I just, I feel very touched by all of these podcasters

TREY:

I really have been finding such the opposite experience and.

TREY:

It's just so amazing.

TREY:

And Amanda and Trevin, who are the hosts of Seriously Sinister,

TREY:

Their show is a true crime podcast, but the little spin here as that they're little petty crimes.

TREY:

But,Trevin is this like genius, uh, musical editing composer person.

TREY:

So they find these hilarious stories and then Trevin does tons of post-production on them.

TREY:

So it sounds like so heightened.

TREY:

So overly emotional, it's just, they're really funny.

TREY:

Creative.

TREY:

Genius minds over there.

TREY:

They start similar to us every episode, they have a dreadful dilemma.

TREY:

They also have this really fun thing that I kind of want us to steal Chelsey.

CHELSEY:

Borrow,

TREY:

Borrow.

TREY:

Um, they do Fur Baby Fridays on their Instagram for you all listeners and friends can send

TREY:

So you have to check that out @seriouslysinisterpodcast.

TREY:

And I think it's going to air prior to this episode cuz of scheduling reasons, but

CHELSEY:

It's true!

TREY:

Anyway, love the podcast.

TREY:

Love Amanda and Trevin.

TREY:

And I really would highly suggest checking them out, giving them a subscribe and leaving

TREY:

Which is, You know, sometimes very tedious, but they're really good at that.

TREY:

So My Royal Highness this week is Seriously Sinister, a true petty crime podcast.

CHELSEY:

I love that.

CHELSEY:

So great.

TREY:

Awesome.

TREY:

Oh my gosh, Chelsey, very...

VOICEOVER:

Listener Voicemail.

CHELSEY:

There's a voicemail?

TREY:

Surprise!

CHELSEY:

Oh my God!

CHELSEY:

I never know when there's a voicemail.

CHELSEY:

You guys just so you know, it's, I'm always truly surprised.

TREY:

So, this is interesting along the lines of your Royal Highness.

TREY:

Today, we have a voicemail from listener, James, and I just have to take a moment

CHELSEY:

Oh my God!

CHELSEY:

Really earning, really earning that uh pin and pen with this voicemail.

TREY:

And coffee mug Yes.

TREY:

All right.

TREY:

So, um, here's James's voicemail.

CHELSEY:

Okay.

CHELSEY:

Let's hear it.

VOICEOVER:

Hey guys, my name is James and I just wanted to give a shout out to the

VOICEOVER:

I work at a fancy New York City chain of gyms.

VOICEOVER:

And during COVID in particular.

VOICEOVER:

The things that these folks were asked to do were huge.

VOICEOVER:

I teach group fitness.

VOICEOVER:

We make a sweaty mess with mats and weights and all that stuff, and they have to

VOICEOVER:

And they have to do it quickly and they're always just have the best

VOICEOVER:

So I just want him to give them a shoutout.

VOICEOVER:

Thanks y'all!

VOICEOVER:

Love the work you do.

VOICEOVER:

Bye!

CHELSEY:

Aww!

TREY:

It's so nice.

CHELSEY:

Love the work you do!

CHELSEY:

So nice.

TREY:

So, James has chosen to not say what the gym is.

TREY:

So I'm going to respect that, but I was once a member of this very expensive gym.

TREY:

And I always noticed in the past, the cleaning staff, they do not cut corners.

TREY:

They are constantly vacuuming like throughout the shift.

TREY:

This place is cleaner than like, I don't know the Taj Mahal is that clean?

TREY:

I don't know, but like,

CHELSEY:

I would think so.

TREY:

But I just thought that it was amazing.

TREY:

James is a, um, group fitness instructor and wanted to shout out the cleaning staff.

TREY:

Think about that.

TREY:

That's a very under thanked position, these sanitation workers

CHELSEY:

So true.

CHELSEY:

And like, he, I love that he's acknowledging, like he doesn't get to do what he does,

CHELSEY:

And that is true because for so long, we weren't even able to go into gyms at all.

TREY:

Right.

CHELSEY:

And now that we're going back, somebody's got to keep everybody safe.

CHELSEY:

And that's the cleaning staff.

TREY:

I mean, literally you're the one getting rid of the germs.

TREY:

Like that's actually scary.

TREY:

Well, you know, I think that does sort of tie it around to this whole world of reviews.

TREY:

You know, it's just like if we all were considerate and conscious of the other

TREY:

Maybe Charollett could learn a little something from the sanitation workers.

CHELSEY:

Yeah.

CHELSEY:

Rather than calling people assholes,

TREY:

But you still encounter the assholes!

TREY:

How do you do this ying and yang of life.

TREY:

I don't know.

CHELSEY:

I mean, that's what we, we ponder every week here, we meet people on one

TREY:

That's very true.

TREY:

Well, my queen, you have made today a much better.
