Mirror Mirror. A podcast monologue about ageing and relationships.

Mirror Mirror. A podcast monologue about ageing and relationships.

MIRROR MIRROR

A five-minute podcast monologue about ageing and relationships.

Description:

We meet Tanya, a woman in her fifties who is getting ready for a second date with a man named Tony. Looking into her mirror, she reflects on her past, including her failed marriage to Brian and their children together. She also shares her insecurities about her appearance and wonders whether she should even date Tony. However, she decides to take a chance and see where the night takes her.

Key Takeaways:

  • Sometimes we feel like we've lost ourselves or our sense of identity, but it's never too late to try to find it again.
  • Despite past failures and heartbreaks, being open to new opportunities and experiences is essential.
  • We should be proud of the life we've built for ourselves, even if it's not perfect.
  • Laughter can be a powerful tool for connecting with others and feeling more like ourselves.

Rudderless. A Monologue About Navigating Life's Challenges with Resilience and Perseverance

Rudderless. A Monologue About Navigating Life's Challenges with Resilience and Perseverance

ABOUT RUDDERLESS

Rudderless is a monologue written by Scott Davenport, read by Philip Rainford and produced by Rebcat Creations.

In this moving monologue, we follow Robert, a disenchanted office worker who feels lost and adrift in a sea of people.

He seeks a treasure island that promises happiness but is constantly knocked off course by unexpected obstacles and setbacks.

Despite this, he tries to keep going but eventually finds himself drowning in the vortex of his job. With job loss, he feels like his ship has broken apart, but he manages to find his rudder and steer himself towards a safe port.

It is a powerful metaphor for many's daily struggles in search of life direction and the importance of resilience, perseverance, and hope.

"Cadillac High: The Shocking Story of How OxyContin was Marketed to America, Fuelling an Epidemic of Addiction."

CADILLAC HIGH

Get ready for a heart-wrenching journey through the devastating opioid epidemic in America with Cadillac High, the latest audio production from Rebcat Creations. Written by the talented Steve Gold, we have adapted and edited  this dark comedy with Gold's full permission to create a captivating podcast experience.

Step into the lives of the characters in Buffalo, New York, in 2010, as they navigate the world of the pharmaceutical industry. With an international cast of talented actors, you'll feel as though you're living their experiences, from the dizzying highs of chasing the American Dream to the tragic lows of addiction and loss. While all the characters in this recording are fictitious, the story is all too real and highlights the harrowing reality of how drugs such as Oxycontin were produced, marketed, and sold to the public.

The Cadlillac High production has been carefully edited and produced for audio broadcast, ensuring that the storytelling is seamless and captivating. We hope you won't be able to stop listening as the plot twists and turns, revealing the harsh reality of the opioid crisis that has blighted America for years.

Rebcat Creations is committed to delivering high-quality productions that engage, entertain and inspire. We believe that Cadillac High is no exception, delivering a thought-provoking and emotional rollercoaster that will leave you with a deeper understanding of the opioid epidemic.

Please follow us on our social media platforms to stay up-to-date with our latest productions, and prepare to be moved.

The Mug's Game, Chapter 14: Escape to The Sun. A novel by Lorraine Flaherty & Catherine Dixon.

The Mug's Game, Chapter 14: Escape to The Sun. A novel by Lorraine Flaherty & Catherine Dixon.

The Mugs Game, is a novel written by Lorraine Flaherty and Catherine Dixon, read by Lorraine Flaherty. The novel was written between 2014 and 2018 and recorded in a London Bridge recording studio between November 2022 and February 2023.

The Mug's Game is a story about love, family and self-discovery with each character wanting something.

Zoe wants to find The One, Robert wants to avoid intimacy, Leo wants power and control, Francesca wants prestige, Joan wants to be fulfilled, Rose wants to be seen, George wants an easy life, Emily wants perfection, Miles wants status and prestige, Rick wants to be permanently high.

Through the different characters, we learn we are conditioned to play a Darwinian game of life's winners and losers. We pass the game down along the family line, unwitting, calling it "our fate" until we learn to exit The Game.

Through Robert and Zoe and their families, we learn how addiction to power, narcissism and greed cause suffering that repeats throughout lifetimes until the cycle is broken.

In this story, the boy does not save the girl, and the girl does not save the boy - they must save themselves. They are forced to face their assumptions and choose differently. When they do, surprising friendships blossom, bridges are built, new loves are born, and a new game begins, focusing on the power of love, not the love of power.

The novel was written between 2014 and 2018.

Newsworthy Episode 1. "Stormy Weather"

NEWSWORTHY AUDIO STORY

Newsworthy is a  new audio story series from Rebcat Creations written over Spring Summer 2022 and rehearsed and recorded in January and February of 2022. It involves 15 actors and a backstage crew of 4.  The story series was written, rehearsed and recorded online with an international cast across several continents. It is Rebcat Creation's most ambitious project to date.

Newsworthy is a story about media wars, relationships, careers and life choices in a post-modernist world, set in contemporary London.  The main characters from each news channel are ambitious to get their voices heard and win the hearts and minds of the great British public.

One channel represents innovative, grassroots investigative journalism. The other channel, equipped with big budgets and slick production values, focuses on boosting ratings with a news-lite, entertainment-centric approach. Which one wins?

The story explores universal themes of enthusiasm and cynicism, new careers  and job loss, youth and ageing, loyalty and betrayal, plain-speaking and obfuscation, friendships and false friends - all with a light hearted,  comedic tone.
