We start by talking about what a foam roller actually is and of course, being 3 blokes it all gets a bit silly and crude and I'm sure you can wonder why. We also talk about its applications as a warm-up tool as Bill starts by saying how the only time he uses one is for some small mobility gains. A lot of the data we discuss also tends to sway towards using a foam roller for warming up rather than a recovery tool.
We also look at the big ones such as DOMs (muscle soreness) and injury prevention and there are quite a few pieces of data on foam rolling being beneficial for DOMs however as we discuss and I'm sure you can imagine pain/soreness can be quite subjective so getting accurate results can prove challenging.
If you've listened to episode 1 of this series you may hear some familiar themes/points being made example being the difference it using one or not won't be night and day. So if you do use one currently, know anyone who does or does not and thinks they're pointless then this episode should address all those trains of thoughts.
