Recently we've seen a few posts dotted about with a picture of Sir Mo Farah in an ice bath. These posts then follow the theme of bashing ice baths. In one case going down the reduction in hypertrophy route which is quite comical when you think of Mo and his goals anyway. We decided to fully explore this topic which includes cryotherapy in general.
The main talking points are application in acute recovery, general population recovery and the science behind ice baths and reducing muscle growth. The latter is an important talking point as this is where people usually go when wanting to dismiss ice baths as a means of recovery. As you'll hear us repeat time and time again. It's all about the context.
