I blame classical guitar for my principal influence in music – the melody, harmony, dissonance, emotion and journey that its’ music provides. That was the beginning of my adventure into jazz, funk, rock, pop, EDM and ambient music – and as a multi-instrumentalist: guitar, saxophone, cello, keyboards, bass, vocals, and my more recent interest in analog modular synths. I have a tendency to gravitate to the melodic, so music is typically layered in that way – more by ear, than through theory. Ultimately, when I compose/write, record, arrange and produce music and songs, I am just reflecting a story that is playing out in my subconscious, and bringing it to life. I don’t want to be true to a genre, I want to be true to what I feel.
